Ebooks and audiobooks
Nothing ships. Shortly after you order, you'll get an email from help@bookfunnel.com with a download link. Choose your device, and BookFunnel walks you through the rest. Most people are reading or listening within five minutes.
You have 14 days to download your files, and you can request a fresh link after that if you need one.
Paperbacks: printing time
My paperbacks are printed to order. I don't hold boxes of books in a garage — when you place an order, a copy is printed for you and posted directly from the printing works nearest you.
Allow 3 to 5 working days for printing, then carrier time on top. It's slower than a warehouse would be. The trade-off is that your copy has never sat on a shelf getting shopworn.
Delivery times
[EDIT: confirm these two figures against your printer's shipping options before publishing.]
Once your book leaves the printing works, delivery usually takes 3 to 7 working days within the United States and 7 to 15 working days internationally. Times vary by destination and by things neither I nor the carrier control.
Order tracking
You'll get a tracking number by email once your order is on its way, so you can follow it yourself rather than wondering.
Shipping costs
Shipping is calculated at checkout, based on where you are and what you've ordered. You'll see the exact cost before you pay — nothing is added afterwards.
I don't offer free shipping. I'd rather charge the real cost of postage than build it into every book price and have readers in cheap-to-reach places subsidise the ones further away.
Where I ship
Worldwide. My printer has works in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia, so an order placed in Manchester is usually printed in Britain rather than flown across an ocean. That keeps postage sane and delivery quicker than you might expect.
Any customs duty or import tax is the buyer's responsibility, as it is with any international order.
Delays
Sometimes a parcel is late for reasons nobody can help — weather, a natural disaster, a carrier having a bad week, a customs queue. I can't promise those won't happen, only that I'll tell you what I know when you ask. Thank you for being patient when the world gets in the way.
If it doesn't arrive, or arrives damaged
Tell me with your order number, and a photo if it's damage. I'll get a replacement to you. You don't need to send a damaged copy back — posting it anywhere costs more than the book is worth.
If tracking says delivered and the parcel isn't there, give it 48 hours and check with your neighbours and your local depot first. Carriers do this more often than they admit. If it still hasn't turned up, come to me and I'll sort it.
